Income Tax department to attach properties of slain gangster Nayeem

 The IT department has confirmed the attachment of slain gangster Nayeemuddin's properties which are estimated of Rs 1200 crore. The properties will be attached by the adjudicating authorities under Benami Transaction Prohibition Amendment Act, 2016.

The department has attached the properties after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) identified his properties registered in the name of his family members and followers. Around 45 properties including agricultural land and open plots in Bhongir and Nalgonda were identified by the officials.

Nayeem was killed in an encounter on August 9, 2016 at Shadnagar.
