Climate change causes havoc in natural blooming cycle of flowers

Bengaluru: Bangalorians were met with a pleasant sight of fully bloomed Tabebuia flowers perched on trees of various city pavements. 

While this sigt is pleasant on the eys, geologists aren't very happy about this progress. Professor of Geology at Bangalore University, Dr T J Renuka Prasad said the flowers usually bloom around Spring of every year. The fact that they have bloomed now, in off-season is because of climate change. 

Since there has been an early snow line crossing in Chandigarh, the temperatures have dropped significantly, affecting climatic conditions in Bengaluru. 

This is making these trees to produce beautiful flowers. Bengaluru has the highest concentration of avenue Tabebuias in the India, a species which thrives in tropical countries and has been largely planted along pavements.
