Minorities Commission explores cooperation with MANUU
Hyderabad: Telangana State Minorities Commission Chairman Mohammed Qamaruddin today visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University along with two members and proposed to collaborate with the University in organizing a workshop on Minority Commission. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor welcomed the proposal and offered expertise in organizing the proposed activity.
Earlier, Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar received the Chairman and other dignitaries. Department of Public Administration will collaborate with Minorities Commission for organizing the workshop, he informed. Mr. Qamaruddin said that the proposed activity will create awareness among public about the role and importance of Minorities Commission Act. Apart from Hyderabad, representatives from districts will also be invited. Faculty expertise from MANUU will be utilized, he said.
Commission Members, Rashid Ali Khan, Abdul Azeem and Mohammed Riaz Ahmed (Chief Advisor) were also present.
Dr. Aslam Parvaiz briefed the commission about the academic programmes of the University and appreciated the minority welfare measures taken by the Government of Telangana and described them as exemplary. He also praised the pro-active role of the State Minorities Commission in safeguarding the interest of minorities.
The Chairman of the Commission and visiting Members expressed satisfaction about the performance of the Urdu University and offered cooperation.
Prof. P.F. Rahman, Director I/c, Distance Education, Prof. Naseemuddin Farees, Dean, Languages, Prof. Saneem Fatima, Joint Dean, Academics, Dr. Mohd. Yousuf Khan, Principal Polytechnic Hyderabad and others were also present.
