GHMC Standing Committee approves Rs. 6150 Cr budget for 2019-20
Hyderabad: The Standing Committee of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has approved a budget of Rs. 6,150 Crore for the financial 2019-2020.
Approval was given in the GHMC Standing Committee meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Mayor Dr. Bonthu Rammohan and attended by Commissioner Dana Kishore and other members of the Committee. the budget proposals were placed before the Standing Committee in its meeting held on December 20. After detailed discussions, the Committee finalised the budget today.
According to GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore the budget would now be placed for discussion and approval in the GHMC General Body meeting and would be sent to the State Government for final approval before February 20.
Of a budget of Rs. 6076.86 crore in 2018-19, the GHMC had spent Rs. 5,375 crore. This year it has been enhanced to Rs. 6,150 Crore. If the expenditure of Rs. 5,388 crore on major projects in the city is taken into consideration, then the overall budget of GHMC would of Rs. 11,538 crore.
