Leonia Resorts CMD held for tax evasion

  Chairman and managing director of Leonia Resorts in Shamirpet held for Rs 13.8 crore Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion.

As per the director-general of GST intelligence (DGGI), Chakravarthi Raju, CMD of Leonia Resorts has been collecting the Goods and Services Tax from the customers but not paying to the government. As he did not co-operate for the investigation, he was taken into custody. He will be in remand till January 18, said the officials adding that five of his bank accounts were frozen. 

Chakravarti Raju was arrested in January last year in a Rs 54 crore bank fraud.
