Telangana: 15 Nizamabad workers stranded in Iraq

Around 15 people hailing from Nizamabad district in Telangana were stranded in Iraq after being cheated by an agent on the promise of jobs.

The agent had collected Rs 2 lakh cash from each and sent them to Iraq over visit visa after assuring them of giving work permit in the country. On learning that they have been cheated, they sought help from the external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj to help in getting back to India. 

Basanth Reddy, Gulf Welfare Association representative who is aiding them in Iraq demanded the arrest of the agent. The victims had gone to Iraq in September last year.
