Woman travels all along from US to Telangana to contest in GP polls

 A woman residing in Maryland in the US travelled all along from the country to Sangareddy district in Telangana to take part in the Gram Panchayat elections in the State.

Swetha who got married to Anil Reddy who is a native of Kasala village of Hatnoora mandal in Sangareddy had moved to US 12 years ago. While Anil is a software engineer Swetha works in a mobile pre-school. As the Kasala sarpanch post is reserved to OC woman, Swetha moved to her village and filed nomination papers. As many as five women belonging to OC are contesting in the elections from the village.

Swetha along with her family prepared a 12-point manifesto which included a digital library, revamping of Anganwadis.
