26-year-old HR sexually harassed by the manager of private company
Bengaluru: In Peenya, North Bengaluru a 26-year-old HR executive belonging to a private company, had accused her manager of sexually harassing her with the tag of being a woman director of the firm.
Police have said that, Sharath KJ, 30, and the director Guna K Tantri, 45, are not in contact and their mobile phones are currently switched off.
The complainant has said that, Sharath regularly harassed her, seeking sexual favours. “I joined the company in April 2017 and manager Sharath sexually harassed me from the beginning. In May 2018, Sharath invited me to his house on the pretext of throwing a party and tried to force me into having a physical relationship with him. I complained against Sharath to our director Guna K Tantri, seeking protection. To my shock and surprise, Tantri supported Sharath and threatened me for daring to complain against him. Being a woman, she should have understood my problem,” the woman said in her complaint.
Police said that, initial investigation has showed that the complainant had been terminated from the service few months back. “We have asked for documents explaining the reasons for termination. If her service was terminated after complaining against Sharath, it becomes another crime,” said the investigating officers.
