Effective handling of Sankranthi rush by SCR officials
Hyderabad: With the commencement of Sankranthi holiday season and weekend rush adding to the situation, travelling passengers has substantially increased at the railway stations in major cities, particularly in twin cities.
People travelling to their native places from twin cities has increased enormously on 3 days prior to Bhogi festival (11th, 12th and 13th January) and this is the time when Officials of South Central Railway, especially from commercial and operating department, swung into action and managed rush effectively to make rail users experience a pleasure.
South Central Railway has announced highest ever special trains for this festival and especially on three days (11th, 12th & 13th January), 8 special fare trains, 7 Jansadharan trains, 01 Humsafar train and 11 Suvidha trains (Total 27 special trains) were run from twin cities towards Vijayawada, Kakinada, Narsapur, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru and also for farther places like Jaipur, Kochuveli, Barauni etc.
In the same manner, to cater to return journey traffic, especially on 18th , 19th & 20th January , 13 special fare trains, 5 Jansadharan trains and 4 Suvidha trains ( Total 22 special trains ) are being operated towards twin cities from various stations like Vijayawada, Kakinada, Nagarsol, Machilipatnam, Visakhapatnam, Kamakhya, Ernakulam, Jaipur etc.,
