SC rejects R Krishnaiah plea over BC reservation in gram panchayat polls

  The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the petition filed by BC leader R Krishnaiah against the decrease of BC reservation from 34 per cent to 22 per cent in gram panchayat polls in Telangana.

The Telangana government has issued an ordinance reducing BC reservation to 22 per cent. The court which launched an inquiry over the petition stated that they could not intervene in the matter as the reservation not exceeded by 50 per cent.
