The plan is to generate Rs 30 lakh-Rs 40 lakh from a fundraiser concert that is being performed by singer Sonu Nigam. The event will be held on January 27 at St Joseph’s Indian High School Grounds near the Mallya Hospital. “We are planning to sell concert tickets through a booking website. The money raised will be used for rehabilitation of the victims,” said Machado.

He said that thousands of families belonging to Kodagu are still struggling because of the flood that occurred. “It’s our responsibility to help people who are displaced and homeless. It’s difficult to mobilize huge financial resources for construction of houses so we decided to organize a fundraiser concert with participation from the people of Bengaluru.” He said they are also working along with the BBMP to help the homeless in Bengaluru.
