Government ignores demands, primary school teachers to go on strike

Bengaluru: Government primary school teachers have decided to conduct rallies at all district headquarters in the state on Saturday to make sure government pays heed to their long-pending demands.
Members of the Karnataka State Primary School Teachers’ Association said they are planning to conduct a massive protest at Vidhana Soudha on March 31, if the government ignores their demands in a meeting on Monday.
The demands are
1. To effecting transfers for teachers - an issue that has not been resolved since years
2. Waivers for written exam mandate for graduate teachers up for promotion
3. Doing away with the new pension scheme and relieving teachers of non-education related duties
