Unable to take torture by police, man ends life in Mancherial

Unable to bear the harassment by the police, a 35-year-old man committed suicide on Thursday in Kushnapalli village of Nennal mandal.

Elguri Mallesh is said to have committed suicide after being tortured by the police and some of the villagers. Mallesh was accused in a case of a forest-related crime and injuring a youth in his village in October.

He took the extreme step by consuming pesticide on Thursday. Meanwhile, the kin of Mallesh staged a protest by blocking the road.
