Post Pulwama, India to target Pak at FATF and Eurpean Commision

Update: 2019-02-16 18:12 IST

India's next diplomatic action against Pakistan is set to be at the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) plenary meeting in Paris on February 17-22.

Pakistan was put on the FATF grey list in June 2018 and was put on notice to be blacklisted by October 2019 if the country didn't cease curb money laundering and terror financing. It would be a hit on Pakistan's economy if If India manages to convince the international financial watchdog on Pakistan's involvement in terrorism.

Coming right after the Pulwama attack by the Jaish-e-Mohammad whose chief Masood Azhar has been provided a safe haven by Pakistan, the Indian delegation will be armed to cut right through any of Islamabad's arguments.

Further, India is in talks with the European Commission to blacklist Pakistan. The commission has proposed to put Pakistan's name on the blacklist, which usually happens to all countries that get on the FATF's grey list.
