FM radios for local flavor: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu
Nellore: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the long pending FM station on Thursday constructed with Rs. 9.30 Cr at Nellore and congratulated AIR's Director General for fast completion of the prestigious project. The station has been proposed in BV Nagar a decade ago and still has been dormant.
Freshly, the project has been taken. Vice President said he was happy that the people of Nellore will have access to AIR's programmes in the local language. He said he had laid a foundation as he was union minister and it has become reality for the enjoyment of the regional population. These FM stations would explore local talent and also give local flavor, he added.
Venkaiah Naidu said radio broadcasting in the world has made a comeback in the era of continuous bombardment of visual content through myriad channels adding that the human eye is enduring weariness and in such scenario, the radio would give respite from such tiredness. He also said Radio gives clean, soft and assuaging entertainment along with hard news.
He also said mother tongue has to be taught up to 8th standard for concern love and affection on the language and the administration should also be done in the same language. Parliament members were allowed to speak in 22 languages, he said.
