Taskforce police chased red sandalwood smugglers in Tirupati

 ​Tirupati: The taskforce police team has chased the red sandalwood smugglers from Srinivasamangapuram to the way between Srivari Mettu.

While the police were conducting the combing operations near the forest area at the back side of the zoo park, they came across the smugglers. On seeing the taskforce team the smugglers tried to escape.

At this point, the smugglers had left the red sandalwood logs on the spot and run away, the policemen chased them and catch hold few of them and took into custody.

In this incident, a total of 14 red sandalwood logs were seized by the police.
