HMRL MD inspects Ameerpet-Hitec City stretch

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy inspected the 10 km Ameerpet – Hitec City stretch of Corridor-III which is getting ready for passenger operations soon, along with the engineers and other senior officers of HMRL and L&TMRHL  here on Friday. 

During the inspection certain important decisions were taken. The L&T construction organization has been asked to complete all the finishing works of the 8 Metro stations in this stretch and keep them operational ready with all machinery and installations, including security equipment.  Similarly, HMRL engineers shall complete the balance street level works below the stations in the next 10 days. The designer sidewalks/footpaths developed by HMRL on Road No.36, Jubilee Hills and elsewhere shall be protected with installation of bollards to prevent parking of vehicles on them and the shop owners shall be warned not to misuse the footpaths and allow free pedestrian movement. Bus bays, auto bays, e-vehicle bays and electric charging facilities shall be created at all Metro stations.

Madhuranagar-Taruni station: The two acre open space at Madhuranagar- Taruni station shall be leveled for holding a temporary “Taruni Market” on the lines of Numaish (Exhibition) with about 150 stalls, catering to the needs of women and children.  Sufficient parking area for parking of about 70 cars and 400 two wheelers shall be developed.  The MD has approved the layout for this purpose. 

Yusufguda station: L&T shall immediately remove their containers, machinery and other installations in the one acre open space on the left side of Yusufguda Metro station and the whole area shall be developed as parking place for the vehicles of Metro commuters. 

Road No.5, Jubilee Hills station: Construction debris and rubble shall be removed, ground shall be leveled in the properties acquired by HMRL and they shall be developed as parking places. 

JH Checkpost station: Since it is a single level station without Concourse, L&T shall take all precautions and provide ‘Q managers’ etc., to facilitate smooth passenger flow at all the four entry/exit points of the station. HMRL engineers shall level the  acquired ‘Ramreddy property’ at JH Checkpost and develop it as parking area. 

Madhapur station: The property acquired by HMRL near NEERU’s shop which is only 100 mtrs away from Madhapur station shall be leveled and developed as parking area for the station. 

Durgam Cheruvu station: Town Planning officers of HMRL shall hold negotiations with the owners of vacant properties on both sides of Durgam Cheruvu station for using them as parking areas.  Discussions shall also be held with the representatives of HYSEA and other organizations to run shuttle services from Durgam Cheruvu and Hitec City Metro stations to the campuses of IT establishments in Hitec city and Gachhibowli areas. 

Hitec City station: L&TMRHL shall install appropriate signages and direction boards to indicate spaces below L&T Mall adjacent to the Metro station for Metro commuters to park their vehicles.  Signages and direction boards shall also be installed at all the Metro stations and parking areas for the guidance of commuters.
