Urdu Congress ends with a call to popularize Science
Hyderabad: Two-day National Urdu Science Congress 2019 ended today at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) with a call to popularize science.
Nine technical sessions witnessed more than 50 paper presenters from different parts of the Country. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor and the brain behind the initiative, described the effort as an attempt to promote and propagate popular science. We need literature aimed at bringing scientific temper among the masses. Urdu Science Congress successfully persuaded few young writers to write on popular science. There were nine such first time paper presenters in the Congress.
MANUU’s Centre for Promotion of Knowledge in Urdu (CPKU) and School of School of Sciences jointly organized the Congress.
Dr. Qazi Siraj Azhar (Michigan University), Dr. Abdul Moiz Shams also address the valedictory. Dr. Abid Moiz, Consultant, CPKU and Covenor of the Congress presented a report and conducted the proceedings. During the congress many books on various science subjects were also released.
A special session was dedicated to celebrate 25 years of Urdu monthly Magazine Science. A unique book on “Eye and Urdu Poetry” compiled by Dr. Abdul Moiz Shams is also released. Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan, Dean, SoS and Director Congress proposed vote of thanks.
