Welfare Minister visits social welfare school
Hyderabad: Minister for Welfare Koppula Eshwar visited the social welfare residential school Gowlidoddi today.
The minister interacted with students and observed a wide range of curricular and innovative student empowerment programmes being initiated by the TSWREIS. All the residential schools in the state will be converted into the state of art schools in the coming years under the KG-PG Mission, the minister said on the occasion.
“It is amazing that students are communicating in English with tremendous confidence despite their humble family backgrounds”, the minister remarked. He congratulated the Secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar and his staff for their dedicated efforts in transforming the residential schools. The minister further said, every year, thousands of students are competing for seats in residential schools which indicates the confidence of parents and students in the government residential schools in the Telangana.
The minister said that the residential schools are moving in the right direction in providing the best possible amenities and quality education to poor children. The minister thanked the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for sanctioning a large number of residential schools to cater to children from all sections of the society in endeavour to make Banagaru Telangana.
The minister inspected classrooms wellness centre, dining hall and other facilities along with Ajay Mishra, Spl. Chief Secretary, SCDD and Uma Devi, Additional Secretary, TSWREIS. Uma Devi explained the various programmes being implemented for overall development of children.
