When a survey conducted women aged 18 to 35 to find out where they stand on the burning issues of the day. So do they all want to found start ups? Do they still believe in marriage? And why won’t they look up from their phones? Let’s see if we can find any answers about the most disruptive generation ever.

CARRER

FLEXI MODE ON : 78 percent of our respondents said they wanted job security. A woman only job portal says, in a gig economy, this may mean not merely Th security of job, but financial independence affordable by flexi career one of Gen Ys most identifiable traits, along with the search for work life balance. It is a choice for many who want to live life in new ways, especially in roles where skills matter more than time spent in an office.

PASSION IS KEY

A wide range of options, high awareness levels and soaring aspirations make it extremely important for three in four women to do a job there are passionate about. They also want to pursue multiple paths at the same time - one can be a techie and home baker on weekends, or musician and a lawyer at the same time. Being pigeon holed into one job could become a thing of past.

RESTLESS AT WORK

While 62 percent said they never wanted to retire, they have no plans to park themselves in one job forever, either. Around 70 percent believed 2-4 Years was the ideal time to stick with one position m. The young seem to feel restless if they don’t see growth or when learning stagnates. That is why companies are striving harder to retain good talent and giving employees a sense of purpose beyond the JD.

PAY AND PLAY BOTH IMPORTANT

The work profile and pay package are no longer the only deciding factors. With the arrival of younger workforce  for whom a lively work environment is as important as the salary, organisation are learning be less stuffy. Dress codes are relaxed, hierarchy is getting flatter, and there’s openness in culture.

STRUCTURES ARE OUT:

WOmen today are breaking away from 9 to 5 structure and would rather be in their own. This clearly shows as a sign of their hunger to stay ahead of the curve. MNCs can be perceived as having too much red tape, as well as too many processes to be able to move the needle fast. Risk is seen as more and more of a good thing.

SEX

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

Half the women interviewed, including 20 percent who hit maybe said they were okay with sex without a commitment, while only 5 percent won’t mind having more than one partner at the same time. Women are aware of the sexual rights and are open to experimentation. But at the same time they are looking for quality over quantity, and would rather have less sex than have bad sex, observes leading sexologist. They want to devote more time to foreplay, after and are vocal about their needs.

HISTORY MORE IMPORTANT THAN GEOGRAPHY

Thant 60 percent women said their partners sexual history is extremely important to them points to the fact that women these days are making informed choices. Gen Y women are aware of the risks involved. Whether it’s pregnancy or STDs I would say history is more important to them than geography.

NO HOOKUPS PLEASE!

only 2% of the respondents touted apps and dating sites as their preferred way to meet people, and 14 percent said they’d hooked up with a person from a dating app.
