Men embracing brooches on red carpet
##SMALL-IMAGE#Washington D.C: Sunday’s 25th annual SAG Awards saw a number of actors break out of the typical black tuxedo and sport metallics, in both jackets and accessories.
The evening saw Henry Golding sporting a Tom Ford Atticus jacquard cocktail jacket in gold. SAG Award winner Darren Criss was seen in a custom Emporio Armani evening jacket in navy blue and silver while Chadwick Boseman on his part wore a bespoke silver Versace evening suit, wrote The Hollywood Reporter.
Boseman’s Ermenegildo Zegna XXX evening suit highlighted a silk and wool shawl-collar jacquard jacket woven in a leaf design, paired with black mohair trousers and a black cashmere turtleneck.
'The Black Panther' star also accepted the trophy on behalf of the film’s ensemble, which captured the award for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boseman and his stylist, Ashley Weston, added a trio of clips from the Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Collection on the broach.
Based on pieces created by famed French jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger, the three clips – dubbed Five Leaves, Paris Flames and Floral Leaves – are crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum and embellished with white diamonds, and are priced between USD 12,800 and USD 23,000 each.
This year, this is not the first time that actors are sporting brooches. The Golden Globes saw Billy Porter wearing a quartet of floral brooches by Oscar Heyman, while Michael B. Jordan wore a vintage 1934 diamond brooch in 18-karat white gold and platinum from Cartier’s archives.
