Telangana needs KCR

Update: 2018-11-24 09:56 IST

K. Chandrasekhar Rao has rightly said that if his party does not win, he has nothing to lose. But, the people of Telangana State will  lose a competent leader. Being closely associated with the Telangana movement, he knows the issues of Telangana and got a clear vision and plans to solve those issues. We should remember that he did not succumb to the tremendous pressures from the then State Governments and political parties during the prolonged 14 years of movement, and continued his struggle to achieve his goal of Telangana State.

Otherwise, fate of Telangana movement could have met the same fate as that of earlier Telangana movements.
Even after formation he never relented. He spent 12 to 16 hours a day on reengineering of projects and planning of other welfare schemes or programmes of development. Before taking a decision, he ponders in depth over all the aspects. Once taken the decision, he pursues it with same vigour. Planning and executing the Kaleshwaram Project and Palamuru-Rangareddy Project, or other schemes like Rythu Bandhu for rural agriculture are testimonies for his work.

His efforts related to Hyderabad drinking water supply are great: Krishna Water Phase-III from Nagarjunasagar and Godavari phase-I from Yellampalli. He had personally,  continuously monitored the progress of work and resolved many bottle necks with quick decisions and pursuance. Otherwise, today the City would have been under a terrible drinking water problem.

The drinking water supply to the Hyderabad city should be calculated at 20 per cent as consumptive use as per Bachawat Award. Telangana appealed several times at KRMB. Because AP Government is objecting to it, Telangana state has to divert water meant for irrigation to drinking purposes to the City, about 13 TMC of water every year. Hence, the areas in need of irrigation in Telangana are sacrificing thier share of water for the sake of Hyderabad Drinking Water. Hyderabad is a cosmopolitan city where people from across the country live. Such inhuman attitude, of denying drinking water to Hyderabad City as per Tribunal Award, by neighbouring Telugu State is highly deplorable.Telangana needs KCR’s leadership, otherwise it will be very difficult to protect the interests of nascent Telangana State.
