Hans Mystic impactful
‘Reverence for all life is true religion' article in Hans Mystic (THI,Nov.26)has struck me hard that humanity without kindly eyes on birds, cow, dog, horse, every beast, worm and what not, is not a humanity at all. The qualities of the sentient beings echoed with our grateful memories that a hungry dog fed with eatable is ever faithful, a cow fed with fodder licks the provider and what not but where do we stand. I just had a stray thought: if no human kills sentient beings, not lesser mortals as once said, I find it strange that scriptures whatsoever 'justify' killing live beings to eat and 'chant' /does 'ritual' to justify the 'slaughter' of an other wise bustling active being till a short while ago finds no 'excuse', what an inexplicable pain while dying? All saintly people quoted in that article have true love, even Jesus denounced David for his 'bloodthirst' in wars, Valmiki cursed the hunter. - Dr T Ramadas, Visakhapatnam
