Don’t adopt the ordinance route

Update: 2018-11-29 05:30 IST

Last Sunday the VHP had a well organised gathering in the name of" Dharma Sansad " or religious assembly with a view to put pressure on the Centre to make way to build a Ram Mandir at the site of the destroyed Babri Majid at Ayodhya in UP. It appears that the Modi government itself is provoking the Hindu religious outfits under the VHP so as to get political mileage in the ongoing Assembly elections in the five states. Of these, three are in north India where the BJP is ruling party. So as to consolidate its position the Modi government is supporting the Ram Mandir movement indirectly in the runup to general elections in 2019.

The opposition is criticising the move by saying the  present Central government has failed in all fronts and  instigating communal forces to recapture the power at the Centre in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.Whatever the political strategy , the Sunday's religious made the Muslim people to leave their residences in Ayodhya  expecting same communal violence that happened in 1992.

It is alleged that the Centre is going to promulgate an ordinance after ongoing Assembly elections process is over to clear way to build Ram temple at the disputed site. However, it is not proper to go for ordinance route when the matter is in the purview of the apex court. But the UP government has adopted a communal path as it is in spree of name changing especially Muslim related names in UP. - Pratapa Reddy Yaramala, Tiruvuru
