Take up Gujarat riots also

Update: 2018-12-19 05:30 IST

Nearly 3000 Sikhs were killed in 1984 massacre and the law has taken 34 long years to finally catch up and deliver justice. Nanavati commission has indicated that Congress leaders were involved in the 1984 riots. The CBI, the main Indian investigative agency believes that the violence was organised with the support from Delhi police and some central government officials. It is estimated that 3000 Sikhs were killed alone in Delhi and nearly 17000 Sikhs were killed in 40 cities across India.

Now our political leaders are hailing the court verdict holding Congress leader Sajjan Kumar guilty in killing of Sikhs and sentencing him to imprisonment for life. It is good to note that justice is delayed but not denied but what happened to punishment for other Political leaders, Delhi police officials and some Central government officials. The other Congress leaders, Delhi police, whose paramount duty was to up keep law and order situation and  protect the lives who gave full help to rioters and central government officials who backed and shielded the blood thirsty mobs who killed thousands of innocent peoples.

So there is immediate necessity that many more culprits need to brought for the justice. BJP leaders are talking about only 1984 Sikh riots but what about 2002 Gujarat riots where more than 1000 Muslims were butchered to death. Let us hope that after 1984 riots verdict the next agenda of the court verdict will be of 2002 Gujarat riots. And lastly mobs and instigators must be given severe punishment but not with such a delay.
