Impact of fake news dreadful
This refers to the Centre's decision of making amendments in the Information Technology (IT) Act in order to check online abuse. Although the user-friendly technologies in the recent years have bolstered the perspective of the common people towards the digitisation and have opened the new doors of freedom for them as well, one can not repudiate from the fact that it is culpable for several mis happenings inside the country as well.
With the susceptible nature of the new age technologies and internet, it becomes quite effortless for an individual to create eye catching clickbaits for spreading fake news across the social networking websites in no time. Since the last year, among the several catastrophes that happened inside the country because of these fake news, it is the 'Mob Lynching' which is the most dreadful. It is quite distressful to note that till now 69 mob attacks and 33 deaths based on the rumours spread over the social networkings have been reported since January 01, 2017 as per the news reports of IndiaSpend analysis.
The escalating reports of mob lynchings and several other mishappenings owing to the fake news is quite dismaying. It is incumbent for the government to organise campaigns for public awareness programmes and ban some of the provoking websites which elicits people's violence
