Farewell, dear Telugus need to be broad-minded
This is with reference to the letter by Ravindra Babu - The Hans (29th Jan). He is not happy over Kannada script at Mantralayam Mutt. When we go back to history, Mantralayam was a small village inhabited mostly by Kannada Brahmins. The village was donated to the Kannada saint Raghavendra Swamy by the Muslim Nawab of Adoni to continue their traditions.
The mutt was earlier visited by only Kannada-speaking devotees. During reorganisation of states the majority Kannada people never agitated to join the nearby Raichur District of Karnataka State but remained in AP. This shows they are unbiased. Besides, Kannada script is akin to Telugu and easily readable. Let us all love Kannada as a sister language.
Bernard Shaw always said, let us love all things dearly, including languages too. Entire world loves English is a fact. All must be broadmindedly focused on universal solutions to urgent, productive, more important things like solutions to global warming, pollution of rivers, ozone layer saving, an excellent personal life and professional life to others, scientific Advancement for a better user-customer-citizen friendly world etc.
