Nepotism and Nehru

Update: 2019-02-02 05:30 IST

Thanks for responding to my letter Mr Kalkura! What I have quoted is based on pages 101, 102, 103 of the book (currently out of print) under question. There is no question of typographical error from my side, for, I have reproduced it faithfully.

In any case, whether it was really Govind Ballabh Pant or some other person who had protested the name of Indira in that emergency meeting or whether Pant had said the same words in an earlier such meeting, the pertinent fact remains that Nijalingappa had to unfortunately lose his candidacy due to Nehru's last minute nepotistic intervention. And not to speak of the Radhakrishnan episode! After all, as the saying goes, power corrupts and absolute power.......!
