RTC staff behaviour condemnable

Update: 2019-02-06 05:30 IST

I am writing this letter to address the struggles faced by passengers of TSRTC buses. The problem of crowded buses is not just faced in the peak times of college hours or work hours, but every now and then in a day. Standing for long hours in the buses due to less number of buses present in that route has become very difficult.

The four seats allotted for differently abled and the aged is not a good idea. Because by giving these seats to them, the number of seats for women are reduced. And men who sit in these seats are drunk most of the times and try misbehaving with young girls standing beside them.

As the metro trains have alloted a separate compartment for aged, I feel even a separate bus for the aged would do a lot of benefit for them. Or alloting separate seats for aged women in the front and for the aged men in the men's compartment in the bus would also be beneficial.

Coming to the issue of rude behaviour of bus drivers and conductors. They keep shouting at young girls with abusive words. Most of them even push the girls into the bus and even use a stick threatening to hit them. And sometimes the drivers don't stop buses, because that particular girl is on her phone or is plugged on earphones.
