BJP worker found hanging from tree

Agartala Barely a week away from polling, a BJP leader was found hanging in Tripura on Monday morning. This is the eighth incident of a BJP worker being killed in the poll-bound Tripura, which is being ruled by the Left Front for the past three decades.

According to the police, Madhusudan Deb, a booth level leader in Barjala went missing on Saturday. On Monday morning, his body was found hanging from a tree in the village. A complaint has already been lodge in Ramnagar police station on Saturday about his going missing.

Significantly, the death happened at a time when BJP national chief Amit Shah is touring Tripura. Shah blamed the CPM for the death. He said that the CPM were letting loose a reign of terror on the people, especially those supporting the BJP.

However, the police said this could be a case of suicide. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
