Shia Central Waqf Board has called for a ban on All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). Waqf Board chairperson Wasim Rizvi has also demanded a probe into the credentials of the AIMPLB.

Rizvi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he accused the AIMPLB of having terror links with groups in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Interestingly, AIMPLB’s oustem member Maulana Salman Nadvi too leveled similar allegations against AIMPLB. Nadvi said on Sunday that the board was hijacked by hardline elements who do not want a solution to Ayodhya issue.

Rizvi referred to Nadvi and said that when Nadvi supported the chief of ISIS Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, the AIMPLB did not taken any action against him. But, the board threw him out when he supported Shia Board’s proposal to shift the Babri mosque away from the current site. Rizvi also said that the board had supported controversial tele evangelist Zakir Naik.
