UP cops diffuse communal tension, arrest 2, book cases against 13 in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: Acting with alacrity, Yogi Adityanath Government in Uttar Pradesh arrested two persons and slapped cases against 13 persons for allegedly attacking a youth belonging to a minority community in Sarvat Road area in the communally-sensitive Muzaffarnagar city.

The accused alleged thrashed a person identified as Akib Hasan and thrashed him. They also set afire his two-wheeler. The miscreants forced their entry into the house of Akib and beat him. Akib has since been shifted to a hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable and out of danger.

The police, who moved to the affected area quickly, brought the situation under control and ensured that no untoward incident occurred. The arrested persons have been produced in the court. The police have been deployed in large number to tighten the security in the area.

Muzaffarnagar is a known communal tinderbox where sectarian riots are common. The police said the situation is currently under control.
