Kamal Haasan pays tributes to Kalam; kick-starts his political journey
Actor Kamal Haasan has kickstarted his political journey today after paying tributes to late President A P J Abdul Kalam at his residence in Rameswaram.
Visiting Kalam's residence, Kamal Haasan sought the blessings of the late President's elder brother, Mohammed Muthu Meera Lebbai Maraicker and spoke to the media saying that Kalam’s national spirit was something which everyone should learn.
He is scheduled to launch his party in Madurai in the evening where the name of the party and policy will be revealed.
The actor even confirmed that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is attending the Madurai meeting.
He mentioned his phone conversation with Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu who told him regarding the list of things to do for people which itself will lead to victory.
Stating that his responsibilities have increased with his entry into politics, Kamal Haasan said that anyone belonging to any profession having the intent and passion can now enter politics.
Also interacting with the fishermen, he called upon them to understand their issues and also make them grasp the need to respect international laws in reference to the frequent detention of Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy.
Haasan further said that while several governments had made empty promises for the fishing community, he plans to interact them once again.
