Kamal Haasan to begin his political journey from president Kalam’s house

 Kamal Haasan is all set to begin his political journey and will be doing it from former president A P J Abdul Kalam’s house on February 21. After touring his home district Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga, he will address public meetings at Ramanathapuram palace, Paramakudi and Manamadurai.

The actor will hoist his political party’s flag at the public meeting spot at Y Othakadai.

Ahead of taking the political plunge, Kamal Haasan called on senior CPI leader R Nallakannu on Saturday.

Madurai has been the hotbed of various political developments for decades. Mahatma Gandhi’s significant decision of changing his attire to that of a peasant was made at Madurai during his visit in 1921. Leaders including Kamaraj had commenced their political journey at Madurai.

Fishermen leaders at Rameswaram are yet to receive an invite for the meeting and are wondering as to why Kamal had not launched his political career last year when they were tormented by their dispute with Sri Lanka particularly when even the small outfits and political parties had shown their solidarity.
