BJP MP Subramanian Swamy: Sridevi never drank hard liquor, could have been force-fed

With the wait for repatriation of Sridevi's body gets longer, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday went to make sensational charges regarding the actress’ death even terming it as ‘murder’.

Raising questions over the circumstances of actor's death in Dubai, Subramanian Swamy said that Sridevi never touched hard drinks and alcohol could have been force-fed.

A day after reports stated that the actor had died following a cardiac arrest on Saturday night, a Dubai Police forensic report informed that Sridevi had passed away due to accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room.

Reports also suggested that Sridevi was getting ready for her surprise dinner date with husband and film producer Boney Kapoor.

Later, there was a mention in the forensic report of traces of alcohol in her blood.

Speaking in this regard, Subramanian Swamy said that Sridevi had a 'fetish for health' adding that it is very difficult to die and drown in a bathtub unless somebody pushed or prevented you from breathing.

He was quoted saying to news agency ANI, "Let's wait for the prosecution to pronounce it. Facts in media do not appear to be consistent. She never drank hard liquor, how did it enter her system? What happened to CCTV? Doctors suddenly appeared before the media and said she died of heart failure.”
