Rahul Gandhi reaches out to Advani, ignores Amit Shah in Lok Sabha

Update: 2018-03-13 18:20 IST

Congress President Rahul Gandhi seems to be setting an example. Despite the differences the party holds with the BJP, the Congress Chief reached out to senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani in Lok Sabha on Monday.

Ahead of the session, Rahul Gandhi entered the Lok Sabha and headed to have a chat with the BJP veteran who was seated alone in the front row of the treasury benches.

After greeting Advani with folded hands, Rahul was heard asking Advani's well being. While the former deputy prime minister responded in affirmative, he proceeded to dwell on how he was concerned about the House not being able to function.

He even observed that neither the opposition nor the Speaker or Prime Minister, being able to end the impasse which is a first. After holding the talk for a few minutes, Rahul Gandhi resumed his seat at the other end of the House.

Interestingly, a sharp contrast was witnessed just an hour later after this chat as Rahul Gandhi didn’t extend any sorts of pleasantries with the BJP President Amit Shah who walked past him.

Neither of them exchanged courtesies or acknowledged the other.
