Not afraid of no-confidence motion: Ram Madhav
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav on Monday said they are not afraid of no-confidence motion.
"We aren't afraid of no-confidence motion, we have numbers in Parliament. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) stand is political. Suddenly, taking up sentimental issues and trying to bring no-confidence motion is something that they have to explain to the people of Andhra Pradesh," he told ANI.
"Any number of fronts can come up but BJP is strong enough to face any such challenge. There seems to be an effort to stitch an unholy coalition again, we will face the challenge, Madhav added.
Earlier today, following a continuous uproar over the demand of 'No confidence motion' in the Lok Sabha, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House till Tuesday. The motion, however, has not been moved in the Lower House today.
Further hitting out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Madhav stated that Chandrababu Naidu is famous for indulging in political gimmicks.
"No one can beat N. Chandrababu Naidu in playing political games. He is famous for indulging in political gimmicks. We are with him as far as demand for development of Andhra Pradesh is concerned but if he talks about political drama most political games are played by TDP," Madhav noted.
Madhav's statement comes hours after the Parliament secretariat received three notices on no-confidence motion against the Centre for its refusal to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
Two was received from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and one from YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
Earlier in the day, Rajya Sabha was adjourned till tomorrow after TDP and AIADMK MPs created pandemonium over special status to Andhra Pradesh and Cauvery dispute, respectively.
