Guwahati: Assam government today told the Assembly that it will not give any land to the proposed Greater Nagalim as per the Naga Framework Agreement and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has taken up the issue with the Centre.

Replying to a query by Congress MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed during question hour, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said, "On behalf of the Chief Minister, I am saying it with responsibility that not a single inch of Assam land will be included in the Naga pact.

"Sonowal, who also holds the Home portfolio, has already discussed the issue with the Centre," he said adding the Assam government has not received any official communication from the Centre on the Naga Framework Agreement yet.

Ahmed had requested the state government to ask the Centre to take Assam into consideration while finalising the agreement and demanded an all party delegation to visit the national capital for meeting the president and prime minister to discuss the matter.

BJP MLAs Atul Bora and Numal Momin also highlighted the encroachments by Nagaland along the interstate border.
