Venkaiah Naidu criticises Rajya Sabha MPs for repeated disruptions
Due to the repeated adjournment of Rajya Sabha sessions, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday criticised the members for relentlessly indulging in protests and not allowing any bills to be passed.
Venkaiah Naidu, who is also the speaker of the Upper House warned the members for testing the patience of the public and adjourned the house till afternoon.
Stating that the entire country is agitated with the happenings in the House, he expressed displeasure over the repeated disruptions in the house since Parliament met and requested the opposition for cooperation and allow the transaction of some bills.
Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) members staged protests on Wednesday against the softening of certain provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. On the other hand, TDP continued protests for the special status for Andhra Pradesh while DMK and AIADMK demanded the immediate constitution of the Cauvery Water Management Board.
