Woman kills husband over affairs, sleeps beside body to avoid suspicion

A 65-year-old woman killed her 75-year-old husband in Mumbai after she was fed up with the daily harassment. 

The woman, Dhannudevi was married to Chhotelal Mourya for more than 40 years and suspected him of having affairs with two women.

The incident came to light when police were alerted early Sunday morning that an old man was lying injured at his home at Krishna Menon Nagar at Chembur. 

Mourya's three sons and the police rushed him to Rajawadi hospital but he was declared dead. Upon inquiring about the incident, Dhannudevi told police that she didn't know how he died, however, the doctors informed regarding the nature of injuries on Mourya's head. Following this, the police immediately registered a murder case.

During the investigation, police found that besides Dhannudevi nobody had entered their house. Later she broke down and confessed of killing her husband during the interrogation. A case was booked for murder against her and she was arrested.

Dhannudevi told the police that the couple had an argument over a petty issue until late Saturday night and she decided in anger to kill him for the years of harassment he meted out to her. 

After her husband fell asleep, she hit him on his head with a paver block and slept next to him until morning to avoid arousing any suspicion.
