YS Jagan demands severe punishment for culprits in Kathua, Unnao rape cases
YSR Congress Party President and Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took to Twitter today to express his deep concern over the rising number of rape incidents in the country.
Citing the recent Kathua and Unnao incidents where two young girls were brutally raped and one of them murdered, YS Jagan said that as a nation, we failed to protect our daughters.
Expressing outrage over the inhuman acts, he demanded severe punishment for the culprits.
The YSRCP Chief went on to point out that Andhra Pradesh, too is behind in terms of law and order.
Tweet:
The heinous incidents in #Kathua and #Unnao are as much a testimony to the depravity of humanity as they are to the state of law and order in our country. We as a nation have failed our daughters. And AP sadly, has done no better.

Only in Oct'17,a woman was raped in broad daylight in Railway Colony Vizag. In Dec,a Dalit woman was publicly stripped & assaulted in Pendurthi. This time it cannot be business as usual. This time the punishment must be exemplary so no perpetrator can even dream of such a crime!
