JD(S)-Congress coalition government finally gets down to work

The JD(S)-Congress coalition government has finally got down to work on Friday after H D Kumaraswamy was passed with a trust vote even as the BJP staged a walkout during it in protest.

Even though the trust vote was in favour of JD(S)-Congress coalition, Yeddyurappa made it clear that he does not trust Kumaraswamy through personal attacks on Friday.

Kumaraswamy started his speech that he was pained that he was not trusted, that he would try his best to work for a stable government and that he and his family were not doing this for political power.

In response to Kumaraswamy, Yeddyurappa accused the JD(S) of opportunism and recalled how it betrayed Congress in the coalition agreement in 2006. He also stated that, without taking Kumaraswamy’s father’s name, both father and sons were going to make sure that Congress would be wiped out from Karnataka and that the Gowda family was accused of corruption.

Kumaraswamy then state that it was Yeddyurappa who sent out feelers for the coalition.

Right after Yeddyurappa’s speech, BJP leaders walked out and the confidence was put to vote, which was passed unanimously in favour to the coalition government.
