Majority key posts given to JD(S)
After negotiations, Congress has given majority of key posts in the ministry to JD(S) in the coalition government.
Congress and JD(S) announced the power deal, releasing the portfolios to be shared between the partners.
Key ministries like finance, energy, tourism, education and transport went to JD(S).
Home, health, revenue, agriculture and irrigation ministries went to Congress.
Congress got 22 portfolios and JD(S) got 12 portfolios.
The general secretary K C Venugopal stated that they were looking forward to the coalition government and that the senior members of the parties would be deciding on the seat-sharing formula in the coming days.
The CM H D Kumaraswamy has stated that the two parties have come together to fight communal forces and to pave way for realizing the grand alliance that is being envisioned by the regional parties.
The ministers are yet to be picked, and they will be sworn in on June 6 at 2pm.
