RSS drags Rahul Gandhi to court for his defaming comment
NEW DELHI: A court in Maharashtra is likely to frame charges against Congress President Rahul Gandhi on June 12 over a defamation case. The RSS filed this case against him for his statement – “RSS people killed Mahatma Gandhi”.
Amusingly, RSS was accused of involvement in terror activities at an AICC plenary session where Pranab Mukherjee drafted a Congress resolution.
The group refused to drop the case on Rahul though Pranab Mukherjee was being praised by the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on stage.
Rahul Gandhi will have the platform to speak on June 12 during the party workers’ meeting. “There could be a follow-up to Mukherjee’s speech”, a source said.
This is yet another predicament after Pranab Mukherjee’s chief guest turn at the RSS headquarters on Thursday. Rahul Gandhi will be travelling to Bhiwandi on Tuesday since the court requires his presence necessarily.
