Decreased FDI growth is a cause for concern: Suresh Prabhu

NEW DELHI: Foreign direct inflows into India has rose 3 percent, to $62 billion, during 2017-18 which is the slowest rate of expansion under the present government. During the previous year, the inflows were estimated to be greater than $60 billion.
This slowdown in the growth is bad ,as the domestic private investment has remained muted .The commerce and industry minister, Suresh Prabhu, has stated that it may on the account of surplus production capacity getting used up.
He also stated that the foreign direct inflows increased from $152 billion to $223 billion, during the last four years.
