Is BJP preparing for elections in November?

Update: 2018-06-16 23:19 IST

It is reliably learnt that the Central Government has indicated to the Central Election Commission that it should be ready to hold the elections anytime after November.

The BJP is said to be planning to hold elections in ten states so that it can avoid the negative fallout of a possible defeat in the assembly elections to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, where there is said to be anti-incumbancy. The BJP is also planning for an early election as that would rob the Opposition of chances to form a united front against the BJP.

The party is mulling to hold the elections to Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram, AP, Telangana, Haryana, Maharashtra, Odisha and Arunachal, which have only few months of time for elections. The Centra has reportedly readied up the draft bill to reduce the time period of both the Assemblies as well as the Lok Sabha to call for early elections.
