Cow safari to be launched in Rajasthan
From tiger safaris to cow safaris. This can be expected nowhere else but in Rajasthan. The state is seriously getting ready to launch a cow safari and if that works, a bull safari is on its way. Hingonia Gaushala, a state-owned cow shelter on the outskirts of Jaipur, will allow visitors to temporary stay. They will also be able to spend time among its 15,000 cows.
They can watch them graze, feed them, clean them, massage them and even milk them. And If they are there for just sightseeing, 30 breeds of desi cows will be on offer. If in the mood for some adventure, they can climb up on "machans" on tall trees.
Incidentally, the Gaushala made its way to the national headlines in 2016 when thousands of cows were found dead here within a period of two months due to government authorities' mismanagement.
The latest move made doesn't really surprise, As given that Rajasthan was the first state in the country to have a ministry for cows and a human cow minister, way back in 2014.
Building infrastructure for the project shouldn't be a problem given that the state has also levied a 20 percent cess on liquor, the proceeds of which will be used for cow safeguard.
