Bhadrakali Fireworks owner arrested

Warangal: The police have arrested the proprietor of Bhadrakali Fire Works unit Gundlapalli Raj Kumar (38) popularly known as Bambula Kumar.

At a press briefing during late on Wednesday, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder informed that the factory owner Raj Kumar was arrested and would be produced before the court.

The police registered cases under Sec 304 and 285 of IPC and Sec 9 of Explosives Act against Raj Kumar. 

The fireworks unit obtained a licence with validity till 2021 but there were certain violations and a probe was being conducted into those violations, the commissioner said.

The reason for the accident would be established during the investigation, he said.

Warangal Rural district collector M Haritha who described the incident as unfortunate said the state government decided to allot double bedroom houses to the victims’ families.
