No-confidence motion accepted in Lok Sabha

 The no-confidence motion served by opposition parties including the Congress and Telugu Desam Party was accepted on Wednesday in the Lok Sabha.

The no-trust move was initiated by the Opposition on the first day of the Monsoon session of the Parliament was accepted by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Ahead of the session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the government was ready for discussion on all issues on the floor of Parliament adding that several important decision will be taken up in the session which would be taken in nation’s interest.

The ruling TDP and the opposition YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh had earlier pushed no-confidence motions against the government during the budget session of Parliament, but due to the continuous disruptions, the proceedings were not taken up in the session. Both the parties are demanding special category status for Andhra Pradesh, following its bifurcation in June 2014, which would allow the state to special central grants and other incentives.
