Mother of rape victim traps the accused and gets him arrested
BHOPAL: A woman sets a trap and catches a 22-year-old man, who allegedly raped her minor daughter four days back. When the accused Sameer Khan took the bait, she called on ‘Dial-100’, after which police nabbed the accused.
Shyamla Hills police station in-charge SI BPS Bains said the 14-year-old survivor is a Class 9 student. For the past one month on her way to school, she was allegedly stalked by one Sameer Khan alias Shahwar, who resides in her neighbourhood and runs a tailor shop. Khan, who allegedly offered her a lift to her school on his motorcycle. Initially, the victim refused, but when Khan insisted she relented and took the lift. This kept going on for several days, said Bains.
Police said, on July 22, Khan took the victim to a desolate spot near Kerwa Dam and raped her. He allegedly threatened the survivor of dire consequences, if she spoke to anyone about the incident. Khan continued to pick and drop the survivor on his bike, said Bains.
On Wednesday, the survivor mustered courage and told her mother about her ordeal. The survivor’s mother planned to trap Khan. Next day, the survivor took lift from Khan, who allegedly took her to a desolate spot in Shyamla Hills and started molesting her. The survivor’s mother and elder sister, who were following Khan’s motorcycle, reached the spot around 3pm and caught the accused red-handed. They informed the police on ‘Dial-100’. The cops reached the spot and surrounded Khan who was trying to get away, said Bains. A case with charges of abduction, molestation and rape has been registered against Khan and he was arrested, said Bains.
